Matrix UK & Ireland Ambassador and founder of Wig London, Lisa Farrall, has been named Texture Expert at the Creative Head Most Wanted Awards.
The Texture Expert award, newly introduced in 2021, celebrates a salon-based or freelance hairdresser demonstrating stand-out work with textured hair.
Lisa beat a myriad of styling experts to be named the winner of this brand-new category, with her stunning collection of textured hair images wowing the panel of incredible industry and beauty press judges.
Lisa, who is also a finalist for British Hairdressing Awards Afro Hairdresser of the Year, picked up the award at a glittering event at the Printworks in London in front of 600 of her peers and hair heroes.
A change-maker whose hallmarks are passion and progression, Lisa is not only a rising force in the session world, but also committed to education and hair equality as the founder of WIG London, which specialises in hair equality training. When she’s not styling celebrities like Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky and Elle King for music videos and major events, Lisa uses her platform to educate salons to be texture-neutral, believing that every client should be able to walk into any salon and get their hair done.
“I am absolutely delighted to win this award,” Lisa says. “There was some incredible talent in this category and to be the first recipient of this award makes it even more special. It’s great that textured hair is being recognised in mainstream award ceremonies and stylists are being encouraged to
showcase their work.”
