On our pages, we have a collection of visually stunning hair artistry, interiors and content from those across the hair and beauty world – just for you. In this issue, we cover everything from interiors and business to our chief focus of creative hair – we even include a special feature on the lengths we all love… extensions. Find all of this, and more, in SalonEVO NA Issue #29!
COVER
In this issue, we have the iconic Creative Color Ambassador for Keune, George Alderete’s work taking the cover. In the cover piece we delve into the story behind George’s recent shoot. Delving into the complexity of color, and why Keune is the companion you need in the salon – George reveals all about the happenings at the shoot he created with a star-studded team of creatives.
WINTER
Kicking off the winter warmers is the Craft Collective in Colorado. We chat with the owner Mick Lewis, where the brunette specialist talks all about how to keep the color in, and the chill out. We also highlight some of our faves, from brands such as OLAPLEX, Schwarzkopf, K18, and Redken. Our columnists Danielle Keasling and Keya Neal also pop by, sharing their winter wellbeing tips and reflecting on 2024.
STYLIST OF THE EDITION
As stylist of the edition, we have the UK-born, US-Made Vernon François. The hair powerhouse has been in the industry for 25 years – and has attained roles with Ulta Pro Beauty Team, L’Oreal, and OLAPLEX. Through gentleness and skill, Vernon has made his mark on the hair scene – and build a community in the process. This is his story.
BUSINESS
Bringing business to the table is none other than Anna Manukyan. Taking you to the top in 2025, Anna has laid out her advice for goal planning in 2025. We also chat with the founder of the revolutionary application Zenoti, Sudheer Koneru, whose tech is changing lives (and wallets). Wellness PRO also amplified their thoughts on building a thriving business – and why you need insurance to do so.
CREATIVE
Next up, the feature we all love… creative hair. Milk_Shake is helping you find your style, and J Ladner is here to say, “hey, slay, hey,” once again! Sharing his thoughts on creativity, and why it’s integral to staying successful – he truly gets the creative juices flowing. We also caught up with the Dyson Pros, who note that the balance between creativity and time is a hard one to strike – but when you do, you’ll never look back. The Queen of the South also comes by our pages, with her trusty Heiniger clipper by her side: proving that in the salon, you don’t have to stick to scissors.
INTERIORS
Onto the visuals, we have Stories Chicago as our Salon of the Edition. With Minerva furniture, the salon has managed to create an oasis of a salon – bringing forth a light and airy sense of peace to each customer… as well as great hair, obviously! We also gain an insight into the stunning Eleven11 Hair Studio in Northern Illinois, to find out how Collins helped them create their minimal chic space. In interiors, we also spoke to Grow Salon + Wine Bar, where every client’s wine (and hair) choice is catered for.
EXTENSIONS
In this feature, we delve into the secret lives of… extensionists! Popping by the reality TV star, Jessi Ngatikaura’s JZ Styles salon – we got all the tea on how to give each customer luscious, lengthy locks. We also go behind the brand we all know and love – Great Lengths. We also wanted to go a little bit deeper into the science of extensions, so we spoke with McKenzie Turley to find out more about invisible methods and why Invisible Bead Extensions are the way to go in 2025. All of this and more in SalonEVO NA #29!
