SAMANTHA CUSICK LAUNCHES ‘SILLY LITTLE GIRLS CLUB’ PODCAST

On the 14th of November, salon owner and colourist Samantha Cusick launched her much-anticipated podcast, Silly Little Girls Club, at an exclusive event held in the iconic Soho House White City Hall.

The evening celebrated women who have been undermined in their careers and turned those challenges into empowering narratives. This series draws from Samantha’s career-long conversations with incredible women and a defining moment in her journey when an estate agent dismissed her vision as a “silly little girl” while opening her first salon in Notting Hill.

The event was a night to remember, with a crowd of industry leaders, influencers, and a passionate community of supporters. Samantha Cusick took the stage to deliver a speech about the inspiration behind the podcast: “Silly Little Girls Club was born from my desire to create a platform where women can share their stories of resilience and strength. It’s a space to amplify voices that have been dismissed or doubted, showcasing that being called a ‘silly little girl’ can be a badge of courage and empowerment.”

Adding to the evening’s significance, Mel C, aka Sporty Spice and the first guest on the podcast, spoke about her experiences as a woman in the music industry. Mel C shared stories of facing stereotypes and finding her voice in an environment often dominated by male counterparts. “Being part of Silly Little Girls Club felt natural,” she said. “Women’s stories need to be told, and I’m honoured to be part of this important conversation.”

The launch event continued with a high-energy DJ set by Mel C, which also included a vocal performance of the iconic Spice Girl song ‘2 Become 1’, celebrating not just the podcast’s launch but the collective strength and unity of women reclaiming their narratives.

Silly Little Girls Club is a refreshing, candid series where Samantha Cusick invites women, in and out of the hairdressing industry, to discuss how they’ve confronted and conquered undermining moments in their careers. The podcast aims to inspire listeners to challenge stereotypes and draw strength from shared experiences.

The debut episode featuring Mel C is now available on all major podcast platforms. Tune in to hear firsthand accounts of ambition, grit, and triumph – and join the club that’s rewriting the narrative for women everywhere.
