Say ‘I Do’ to Spring!

Welcome to the seventh edition of SalonEVO North America. It’s been an exciting few months here at SalonEVO! With spring naturally comes optimism, and we have a lot of it! With salons across the world opening back up, and events like weddings, expos and awards ceremonies getting rescheduled, we have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months.

Ammon Carver

In this new edition, we dive in deep with our cover star Ammon Carver. The Chief Artistic Director with Ulta Beauty and L’ANZA Global Creative Director tells of the true passion and dedication necessary to make it in the industry. He tells SalonEVO about his passion for inclusivity, and the legacy he hopes to leave for the beauty industry.

Bridal

‘Tis the season to say, ‘I do.’ We at SalonEVO spoke to industry experts to find out the ‘dos and don’ts’ for all things bridal beauty.

Legendary hairstylist Danielle Keasling offers her advice on how you can elevate your game into the luxury wedding market, and how to tackle updo’s with no sweat—take out the heat!

Ryan Trygstad and Mark DeBolt of Mark Ryan Salon in NYC tell how they’ve prepared their salon for a summer jam-packed with wedding madness. As well, Trygstad, stylist to the stars, tell us the in-demand bridal trends for this season’s brides

In this issue we catch up with many more bridal experts, covering everything from the business aspects of getting into the bridal beauty, to how to apply makeup so it will withstand a day’s worth of laughing, kissing and happy tears.

Hair Care

The one trend that will never go out of style, is healthy hair! We share the best advice on how to keep your clients’ hair protected, moisturized and full of life. We catch up with father-son duo Marco and Leo Redavid, to learn more about their story, and how their brand balances performance with naturally derived ingredients, to give hair that ‘wow’ factor.

We also catch up with Sydney Lopez, from Headlines Hair Design in Denton, Texas, who says you don’t need to choose between that ‘wow’ look, and healthy hair. You can have the best of both worlds, as long as you use the right products and tools to keep your hair protected.

Styling Products and Tools

Your skills will take you so far, but only with the right tools and products at your side. Industry leaders and brand ambassadors let us dig through their toolkit, to find out what the must-have products and tools are on the front lines. Olivia Smalley of @OMGArtistry tells us her tips, tricks, and hacks on how to get ahead, but not without investing in the right arsenal to have on hand.

We also catch up with the industry’s top stylists from Eric Vaughn to Color Queen, Jessica Phillips, to find out what products and tools are in their toolboxes to create their signature effortless looks.

Franchising

Ever thought about owning a salon, but not sure about getting started? Are you thinking of expanding your empire, but not sure if you want to do it alone? For many, franchises offer the best of both worlds. We caught up with the ladies of Nail’d It London, to hear how they made the leap across the pond, and opened Nail’d It LA, with their first franchisee, Nune Muradya.

Tanning and Waxing

We think it’s safe to say it’s been a long winter, and we are all ready to get bikini ready.  In this issue we talk tanning and waxing options, and how your salon can get involved, boost revenue, and help your clients glow.

We chat to Jodie Shay of Queen Bee Salon in Los Angeles to find out how she found her way into the waxing world, and what made her stick with it.

We also caught up with Andi Nunez, Cosmetologist and Fake Bake Spokesperson, and found out how she has brought in sunless tanning into her salon to boost revenue from a small investment.

Plus, we cover many other tanning and waxing options, as well as tips and tricks for application, and how they can boost your salons repertoire.
