Notes published from a meeting that took place in July were published on Friday. Experts in the UK referred to an unofficial report from a Covid-19 outbreak in Switzerland that suggested that face-shield wearers were less protected from becoming infected by the Coronavirus than those wearing masks.
It was acknowledged that the shields did protect the wearer from “large droplets” as well as protecting the eyes.
The government advice says that those who work in the hair and beauty industry should “wear further protection in addition to any that they may usually wear”
