On March 28 in Miami, FL, Booksy brought the world’s first Ugly Salon to life with its Salon Chaos event.
For the day, attendees stepped foot in the hottest salon in Miami, decked out in disco balls, lava lamps, neon signs, fluffy pillows and pops of Booksy’s signature blue. During the event, attendees were kept hydrated and caffeinated, while a lineup of DJ influencers kept the hottest hits rolling.
Then it was time for the “mane” event, which took place in two phases:
During phase one, guests had their hair cut and styled in unconventional means, inspired by the ’80s and ’90s era of wild hair. Reminiscent of bad DIYs and kitchen scissor chops, attendees were left in a panic seeing their frizzy, unkempt looks.
But then, Booksy Ambassadors Kimberly Tay, Sam the Barber, and Nikki Scandalous saved the day, taking over for phase two. From messy ‘dos to festival ready styles, they proved the right Booksy pro can fix any hair disaster. Attendees went from “tragic” to “magic” in an instant, ready for weekend ahead of them.
“Salon Chaos was an absolute success,” Sam the Barber told SalonEVO. “Before we were barbers, we were surgeons. That’s exactly what I felt like today, fixing all those mess ups.”
Attendees walked away with a Booksy swag bag and the hottest hair in town.
