It was smiles all round this week at Brandstand Communications, as co-founder Millie Kendall received an OBE for services to hair and beauty. Having originally been awarded an MBE in 2007, for services to the cosmetics industry, this new award recognises Millie’s continuing passion and commitment to the hair, beauty and cosmetic industries in the UK, as well as her role as founder and CEO of the British Beauty Council.
Millie received her award on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, from HRH, the Princess Royal, Anne, at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, which she attended with her daughter, Lucia, an experience which Millie described as humbling, thrilling and surreal.
Fellow Brandstand Communications co-founder and journalist, Anna-Marie Solowij, was one of the first to congratulate Millie, and comments “Millie has worked tirelessly along with her team to ensure the British Beauty industry is recognised and valued by government, industry and the public, especially at a time when it faced its greatest challenge, during the pandemic. Her energy, enthusiasm and sheer doggedness are matchless. No wonder they gave her a gong!”
