Salon owner Marco Pelusi invited five wonderful UCLA Health nurses to come to his hair studio on August 1, 2021, for complimentary makeovers.
Marco felt that it was the perfect time to say “thank you” to nurses who’d been facing the stressful task of caring for COVID-19 patients for more than a year and a half.
“I enjoy doing makeovers, I always have. I’ve done it on TV, and it’s always a feel-good experience to present the ‘before and after,” commented Pelusi.
“I have a longtime color client who’s the chief executive nurse at UCLA Health, and we came up with the idea to do makeovers on nurses.” The client was particularly excited about this, because she was about to present her annual Nurse of the Year awards and thought the makeovers would be a great addition to the awards.”
