At the latest VIN + OMI AW25 show KAOS, the hair look, crafted by lead hair stylist and Guest Artist for R+CO, Karoliina Saunders, was a striking visual representation of the world’s current state—chaos, yet with a touch of softness and femininity. Designed to reflect different ages, eras, and textures, the concept embraced structured disorder, pushing the boundaries of creativity and sustainability.
“When you look at the TV, the world is full of chaos right now, and I wanted to reflect that,” said lead hairstylist, Karoliina. “But within the chaos, there’s also beauty, femininity, and a nod to different historical influences.”
The styling process involved layering an array of products R+CO products to build texture and dimension. Key products included the R+CO Rodeo Star mousse, which provided substantial lift and body when applied section by section, and R+CO Vicious Strong Hold Hairspray to lock in the bold, avant-garde shapes. The look was designed to be transformed—once the styles were deconstructed, a simple brush-through revealed an entirely new aesthetic.
A core element of the look was the use of recycled ornaments and repurposed materials, reinforcing VIN + OMI’s commitment to sustainability. Karoliina incorporated padding crafted from hair collected over the years, seamlessly blending it into the designs for added volume and structure. The wigs used in the show demonstrated versatility in hairstyling, showcasing innovative ways to repurpose materials in high fashion.
“The creative process started with just one word—chaos. From there, it was about exploring what that meant visually and conceptually. The freedom to experiment and bring that vision to life was incredible,” Karoliina added.
VIN + OMI have long been known for their commitment to sustainability, and this hair look was no exception. The team reused their own recycled materials, ensuring that every element of the style was eco-conscious while maintaining a bold and futuristic aesthetic.
“For some, it might look crazy. But that’s the point. The world is in social chaos, and fashion is a way to express and address that,” Karoliina explained.
The hair looks at the VIN + OMI Kaos show were more than just styling— they were a statement. A blend of sustainability, creativity, and raw artistic expression, they embodied the brand’s ethos while offering a fresh perspective on what hair can be in high fashion.
