Colin McAndrew, Managing Director of Medusa and Head of Business at the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, has launched a day of business mentoring for salon owners. Held in CitizenM, Glasgow on 12th February 2024 it is a proactive way to shape the business year.
Colin’s journey began 27 years ago when he joined Medusa aged 20. His role was to define the brand, create a salon that inspired, attract the right people and help creatively put the business on the map. Ten years later he became a partner and the following year purchased the business which then had three salons. Over the last 17 years, he has doubled the number of salons, introduced an academy, launched a successful rebrand and led his 78-strong team to win industry awards, including Fellowship Salon Group of the Year in 2018 and Business Director of the Year at the British Hairdressing Business Awards in 2020, the most difficult year in the industry’s history and again in 2022.
Working with a Salon Business Mentor can help provide clarity, direction and growth, as well as add an injection of fun and inspiration back into your business. Through an immersive day of salon mentorship, limited to just 12 spaces, Colin will share practical advice, insight and experience. He will navigate through the core essence of salon businesses, the hows and why’s, and help put tangible practices into salons.
‘I want to provide salon owners with a space and opportunity to openly discuss their business in order to realise they are not alone in the struggles of running a salon. By sharing my own challenges and discoveries, and the systems I’ve put in place as learnings from my mistakes I hope to be able to offer clear, practical advice that will positively impact their business. No fluff, no false assurances, just an open and honest day of sharing my experiences to help others.’
