Supporting local charities is part of the Denman DNA, thanks to the late Chairman Dr John Rainey MBE. John was a tireless philanthropist who ensured that Denman continuously reaches out to local (and national) causes to support with free tools, volunteering and cash donations. One such cause is the Northern Ireland Forest School Association which offers a child-centered inspirational learning process that takes place in nature, empowering young minds and bodies to build confidence, independence and healthy curiosity. Denman recently donated over £1700 to help fund classes.
NIFSA representative Brian Poots says: “The Northern Ireland Forest School Association (NIFSA) was delighted to receive a very generous donation from Denman. This funding is vital for NIFSA and allows us to continue our charitable work — to encourage and support outdoor learning in schools and families. NIFSA now work with over half of the schools in Northern Ireland, has trained and accredited over 1,000 teachers to become Forest School Leaders and recently got a joint motion passed with the NI Education Committee to compel the NI Education Minister to have a strategy for outdoor learning in Northern Ireland schools in place by the end of 2026. Without the support of companies like Denman, we would not be able to achieve everything that we have done. Thank you!”
