Fellowship Creative XChange™ Round Up

In March, The Fellowship for British Hairdressing launched their brand-new platform sharing events – the Fellowship Creative XChange™. After the success of their first events in Knutsford, Doncaster, and Glasgow, the Creative XChange™ returned to host events in Farnham and Glasgow.

The Creative XChange™ events will cover all aspects of the hairdressing and barbering industry, from traditional to contemporary techniques in cutting, styling, colour and barbering across all hair types and textures. These events are an opportunity for creatives to come together to present new ideas and techniques, collaborate with like-minded individuals to build stronger local communities and educational learning hubs.

Fellowship Creative XChange™ have been implemented to build up local creative communities and encourage professionals to become members of the Fellowship and to apply for the Fellowship’s Bespoke Education Projects.

Ashleigh Hodges, the President of Fellowship said: “Hairdressing is one of the most creative professions in the world – and we’re so lucky that have a community of like-minded professionals that want to collaborate with one another and help each other to grow and develop their skills -and the Fellowship Creative XChange™ aims to help doing just that! We hope to build communities of creatives whose passion for the craft align, whilst creating a space for them to come together to present and collaborate on new ideas and techniques.”

Hosted by Jade Miles at Viola Hair Studio in Farnham, Kieran Martin, Callum Bates-Siney, Karis Woodward and Rebecca Mills were on hand to demonstrate the latest trends and techniques throughout the night. The team created looks inspired by cowboys which meant lots of volume, lots of texture and lots of shag cuts!

As the team worked away there was plenty of opportunity for attendees to ask any burning questions and dive deeper into the technique that the stylist was using. One of the stand-out looks from the night was created using hair extensions that had been printed with a cow print pattern – absolutely incredible!

Melissa Malone, an attendee at the Farnham Creative XChange™ said: “It was a fantastic night with inspiring stylists. There was so many creative demonstrations going on with the stylists, welcoming and inclusive conversations! It was such a great event, thank you so much!”

Glasgow’s Creative XChange™ took place at The BB Hair Collective where Scott Cooper, Sarah McCulloch, Luke Ellis, Alex Thaddeus, and Eileen Halpin transformed the night into a mini photoshoot! The looks that the stylists produced on the night were photographed live in the salon, highlighting what can be achieved in a limited amount of time with a little planning! Each stylist showcased their own individual style with plenty of time for attendees to ask questions and get hands on themselves.

Nicola Lawson, an attendee at the Glasgow Creative XChange™ said: “Had a great night at the Creative Xchange in Glasgow. I have always loved networking and meeting others as I think its so important to all stay on top of our game. An opportunity to meet other creatives and it has given me a buzz again about this industry and what to look forward to. Can’t wait to see what’s next for 2025.”
