How to style: Cropped Cuts by Jay Birmingham
Many of us go shorter for the winter and this year, the bobs are getting shorter and shorter. Now, if you’re thinking of getting a cropped cut, or have recently got one and unsure how to style it, I’m here to give you some tips.
My beautiful client Rochelle has short hair so I will be using a few of her looks as examples.
This first look is Rochelle for Paris Fashion Week 23. A great look if you want to keep your hair out your face but it’s too short to put up, you should opt for a sleek behind the ear look. I recommend using a hydrating conditioner to give your hair that sleek, shiny look. I used my own Jay B Haircare Hydrating Conditioner in a spray bottle with some water, spritzing into damp hair to help provide the hair with that wet look whilst hydrating it at the same time.
Feel free to play around with your hair pulling bits out at the front to give the look more dimension.
The next option is more versatile and can be worn day to night! It’s all about adding texture and dimension to give your hair that effortless look. For this look, I frayed out the tips of the hair and then added in a sea salt texture spray to give the hair a more natural, undone finish.
Lastly, I created this glam look for Rochelle for the NTA’S. I gave the hair a light tousle to add volume and dimension and paired this with a deep side parting, which instantly adds volume and body.
Hopefully this gives you some inspiration for your new cropped cut, they are so many ways to style a shorter look and it’s going to be a huge this A/W. If you’re thinking about it, I say go for it!
