Helmond, the Netherlands – JOICO UK has launched Color Talent, a new competition searching for the very best in hair color creativity within the JOICO community. The inaugural competition celebrates creative vision, exceptional cutting and color skills and ability to create a sensational image. No professional photography is required, just a smartphone and incredible hairdressing ability!
Recently launched, this competition hosted by JOICO UK can be entered via Lacey’s Hair Supplies, Salon Concepts and Alan Howard. Open to all qualified hairdressers and hair colorists who use JOICO color products in their business, the competition is set to be fierce.
Entrants are asked to create a magazine cover worthy image using clothing, makeup and accessories to enhance their overall look and hair. Taken against a white background with no
filters, entries are required to come complete with a before photo and video along with the completed entry form. They are also asked to provide a brief outline on the inspiration behind their
look, the methods used to create the cut and color (including details on color choice, formulas and techniques) along with details on how they styled and finished the look, and of course which JOICO products were used. Three categories ensure this brand-new color competition has something for everyone. The categories and criteria are as follows:
Short – a commercial look showing skilled cutting and beautiful color on hair that is above the collar bone.
Long – a commercial look showing skilled cutting and beautiful color on hair that is below the collar bone.
Creative – let your imagination run wild on any length of hair, demonstrating your skills and creativity with color.
The competition will be judged virtually by a panel of industry leaders, with entries closing at midnight on June 30th 2022. Entrants have plenty of time to conceptualize and create a winning image with nothing more than skill, a smartphone and an idea. There’s an array of fantastic prizes to be won including the opportunity to work with the Marc Antoni Group of a photoshoot, a Color Course at JOICO, a set of Wings Scissors and the chance to work alongside the Marc Antoni Group on the show which will be presented at the final. Winners being announced at the first ever Color Talent Celebration Event to be held in September 2022.
