KEVIN.MURPHY creates disciplined minimalism for GIADA Fall/Winter 2026

A modern interpretation of 90s minimalism, sculpted with satin texture and controlled movement.

At Giada’s Fall/Winter 2026 runway show, set within the Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense at Milan’s Pinacoteca di Brera, the house explored purity, precision, and refined sensuality. Inspired by the orchid — resilient, architectural, and enigmatic — Creative Director Gabriele Colangelo presented a collection defined by fluid silhouettes, sculptural shoulders, and chromatic restraint. The hair mirrored this same quiet strength.

Led by Hair Director and KEVIN.MURPHY Pro Ambassador Eugene Souleiman, the look embodied a modern interpretation of 90s minimalism — controlled yet soft, polished yet effortless.

“We’ve done something really, really beautiful for the GIADA woman,” says Souleiman. “It’s loosely based in the 90s — minimal hair that feels effortless and chic at the same time, but with a little twist.”

Hair was combed back from the face and tucked neatly behind the ears, revealing the head shape and natural bone structure — echoing the collection’s architectural lines and disciplined tailoring.

“We wanted the women to feel like gentlewomen — like a gentleman, but a woman,” he explains. “So we combed the hair back, away from the face. It’s moving backwards, almost aerodynamic, but still soft.”

To achieve the signature satin texture, Souleiman used BODY.BUILDER in an unexpected way — painting it into the hairline rather than using it for volume.

“We didn’t use it to create body,” he says. “We used it because when it dries naturally, it gives this incredibly beautiful satin finish. You get shine, but it’s not glossy or hard. It feels real.”

A wide-tooth comb was used to create subtle directional lines through the front and crown, enhancing the sense of movement away from the face. The hair was then left to air dry — preserving softness and preventing the look from appearing too rigid or overly set.

“We didn’t want it to look stuck to the head or too perfect. There’s a softness to this look. It’s groomed — very groomed — but it’s not uptight. It feels authentic.”

Lengths were gathered low from the mid-lengths and folded into a loose, contained bun, allowing a delicate sprout of hair to emerge — a restrained detail that balanced discipline with fluidity, finished with STAYING.ALIVE leave-in treatment to ensure a permanent silkyness and smoothness.

“What I love is that we’ve contained the hair and given it a style, yet there’s still movement. It’s controlled movement. It’s not fluffy or chaotic — it’s disciplined, but human.”

For Souleiman, the beauty of the look lies in its wearability.

“Sometimes at shows we get carried away — it becomes about the fantasy. But this is different. This is hair you can actually wear. It’s about aspiration that feels achievable.”

Just before stepping onto the runway, the look was finished with a light veil of SHIMMER.SHINE, adding a subtle sparkle and refined luminosity that caught the light as the models moved — enhancing the satin texture with a delicate, modern sheen.

The final effect: sculpted yet soft, minimal yet expressive — a hairstyle that reflected GIADA’s vision of contemporary femininity in motion.
