Led by Lachlan Mackie with Bumble and bumble, hair at FASHION EAST’s Louis Mayhew presentation drew on the raw, organic textures of the natural world. Reflecting Mayhew’s deconstructed collection, created using found objects gathered during his explorations, the hair felt organically assembled, instinctive and materially driven.
Designed to appear lived-in, driftwood was tied into selected looks, while matte, clay-like finishes referenced coastal cliffs and weathered formations – visualizing the model being lost in the woods, only to emerge looking wonderfully disheveled.
LOST IN THE WOODS, GET THE LOOK:
- Mix together Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray and Surf Spray as the foundation to create natural curl and wave movement, without disturbing the natural pattern.
- For those with straight hair, we added depth and volume, using Bumble and bumble High Drama Styling Foam built up the hair with a subtle tackiness, being easier to now manipulate.
- For key looks, add Bumble and bumble Pret a Powder to emulate a clay/dust you find on coastal cliffs, and for others, we instinctually tied driftwood to naturally hold in the model’s hair.
