Each year NovaLash hold’s their annual LASHoff competition, scouring the globe for the best and brightest last artists in the land! This year, Icelandic, Kristrún Sif Gunnarsdottir, has taken home the big prize.
NovaLash has named Kristrún Sif Gunnarsdottir as Lash Artist of the Year for 2023 during its recent virtual LASHoff ceremony. LASHoff is a global video competition for NovaLash artists held annually since 2010. The competition aims to showcase NovaLash artists’ work while providing them with opportunities for recognition and advancement in their careers.
Kristrún is based in Iceland and has been providing lash extensions to clients since 2006. In 2018 she trained with NovaLash and entered LASHoff to further her career. Her winning video perfectly demonstrated the NovaLash Technique while she exhibited high standards of health and safety.
This is what she told SalonEVO about her win! Take it away, Kristrún: “I am so thankful to accept this award. Having this recognition will boost my career to a higher level, and give me an opportunity to work closer with NovaLash. I am so excited for the future!”
Kristrún continued: “I discovered NovaLash when I started looking for an eyelash brand that would meet a higher quality of standard and one that would have something that other brands here in Iceland didn’t have. After some research online, I saw that NovaLash had many things that other brands didn’t, like oil proof adhesive’s and physician-developed products and methods. That gives me and my clients longer lasting lashes with high quality products!
“When the online LASHoff ceremony was held, the time here in Iceland was 1am so I was up late by myself to watch! When it came to the end of the ceremony and my name was mentioned, I was stunned and happy tears fell that night. There were so many other talented artists that participated so I was verry humble and thankful and still am.”
What has Kristrún learned since working with NovaLash? “The quality of products you work with matters greatly. I see huge differences in the darker color of lash extensions and the way curls hold throughout many weeks of wear. My clients can go longer between infills and that’s what makes higher quality products and education worth it.”
As Lash Artist of the Year, Kristrún received multiple prizes including a $5,000 USD cash prize and a 25% discount on all NovaLash products for one year.
