‘Tis the Season

Welcome to issue 11 of SalonEVO North America! As we wrap up 2021 and prepare for what 2022 has to come, we present to you another jam-packed issue, full of original, educational, creative, and inspiring content to get you into the holiday spirit, and whatever 2022 throws your way.

Schedulicity X Olivia Smalley

This issue kicks off with our cover star, Olivia Smalley: SalonEVO’s longtime columnist and the latest addition to Schedulicity’s ambassador team! In this issue we talk about her journey with Schedulicity, and what motivated her to finally commit to the switch, and modernize her busy life with Schedulicity.

Let’s get festive!

‘Tis the season to be… whatever you want it to be! In this issue, we talk about the latest seasonal trends in hair, beauty, nails, and more. Heather Cohen, owner of b.LUXE salon shares her tips on how to make the holiday season luxurious. We also talk about how to prepare your salon for the busy holiday season and maximize your retail options for the shopping period, with Kendyll Lacko owner of Kalon Hair Studio. Looking into the New Year, we also talk about resolutions, goal setting, and how to make sure you meet those goals with our biz wiz columnist, Nina Tulio.

Hair Extensions

Everyone wants the length these days, but who has time to wait? That’s why the hair extension business is growing rapidly throughout salons all across North America. This issue, we have pulled together a special feature all about the ins and outs of the service of extensions, and what they can bring to your salon.

Rachel Paige, educator for LACED hair extensions kicks off the feature with her incredible business insight into the benefits of adding extensions as a service. We then have an interview with Lacy Gadegaard-West, owner of LACED extensions, and founder of the Laced Hair Foundation too, who talks about the benefits extensions can have on mental health and confidence. The feature also includes interviews with special occasion stylists and visionaries Baelee Reiter, and Sarah Malinda, extensions educator and entrepreneur, Caitlin Meehan, and legendary stylist and Great Lengths educator, Nanci Lee.

Nail Art

Over the last ten years, we have seen the limits of what nail arts can create, evolve to unbelievable levels. There seems to be no limit to what can be created, from realistic paintings to textures, illusions, sparkles, jewels, and more. Our latest columnist Stephanie Yaggy Lavery from Mia Secret tells about what sparked this evolution, and how artists continue to push the boundaries of possibilities. From Nail Tech to educator, to DK Beauty owner, Deborah Jacklin tells us about the evolution of the industry in the last 35 years, and how she has seen the world of nails change. Aja Walton lets us in on the day-in-a-life of a celebrity and editorial manicurist. We also talk about the latest trends with nail content creator, Minnie Huang. Plus, this feature includes a step-by-step how-to from nail artist, Mel Maurice.
