Welcome to our ninth issue of SalonEVO UK & Ireland! This issue is all about evolving, adapting, accepting, and embracing change, and that is what EVO is all about! While this fast-paced industry is continuously changing, we are proud to be a constant and reliable source for informative and inspirational content, to keep you up-to-date with everything you need to know to stay ahead of the trends and as this industry EVO-lves!
We kick off this issue with a feature inspired by Pride. It is about celebrating the diversity and acceptance in this industry, while also spreading awareness and education on how you can promote inclusivity for all genders, sexualities, and identities in your salon. Featuring advice from Hair Has No Gender founder, Keri Blue, as well as Be Trans Aware educator, Sam Marshall. As well as many other salons and businesses that are making moves to make this industry more accepting, tolerant, and inclusive.
Along the lines of embracing change, this issue we talk about the latest innovations in technology, that can help you streamline your business, increase profit, and make more time for doing the things you love. With interviews with salon business experts like Darren Fowler, and features on high tech salons like Alchemy & I, we discuss everything from the practical to the futuristic, from handy apps, booking software, to VR, and microchip manicures… what?!
In this issue, we also talk texture. From techniques, and products, to what we need to be doing in this industry to make it a more diverse place. We talk to industry icons, such as session stylist Regina Meessen, Anne Veck, Rick Roberts, and owners of Simply Gorgeous Salon about embracing the curl, and the best products and tools for caring for curls, and creating show-stopping looks.
Next up we have a feature on tanning, because who doesn’t want that warm glow, especially as shorts season is fast approaching! We learn from educators, like Crazy Angel lead educator Abbie McCann, and business owners, like Sacha Eastwell of Urban Calm, to find out why tanning is the ideal service to add to your salon and the best products, brands, and software to use to make your life easier!
Nail Salon Interiors
Finally, we talk nail salon interiors, and the best furniture and tech to complement your mani-pedis. We feature two beautiful salons, AMA the Salon, and Sugar Beauty, which have contrasting styles but have created a perfect balance between fun and functionality. Because regardless of your aesthetic you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your aesthetic for practicality, and vice versa!
We hope you enjoy this issue! You can order your print copy here.
