Renowned colour experts, Rainbow Room International, are pleased to share the news they will now be offering testing for their colour clients with advanced colour allergy screening system, Colourstart.
The group decided to add this skin testing method across all their salons, as they believe that the traditional skin testing method is outdated and inconvenient for clients to visit their local salon purely for their skin test, and they wanted to offer clients the ability to avoid repeat testing on the skin, whilst being able to have their hair coloured time and time again.
After researching Colourstart over an 18-month period, Rainbow Room International established that this is by far the most effective way to test. Colourstart is also licensed by the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) as the only clinically proven method of screening for potential allergy to PPD (which is the chemical that causes a reaction).
On clients’ next appointment at their local Rainbow Room International salon, they will be asked if they would like to move onto the new Colourstart screening system. Rainbow Room International stylists will guide them through the process, including performing the patch test and downloading the Colourstart Passport App. After the test has been completed and no reaction has been caused, clients will simply be able to log in to their Passport App prior to each appointment and answer a few simple screening questions before showing green ‘OK to colour’ allowing them to have their hair coloured time and time again without any testing – even after the usual 6 month period! You simply need to answer a simple questionaire each time you want to colour and a new test is only needed in exceptional circumstances, such as having had a black henna tattoo.
