Design Essentials Continues Support of Touch of Teal inAid of Ovacome

Design Essentials once again supported the annual Touch of Teal event, which took place on Saturday 13 September 2025 at London’s prestigious May Fair Hotel. The inspiring afternoon combined a fashion show, champagne reception, afternoon tea and charity auction, all in aid of Ovacome, the national UK ovarian cancer charity.

As a long-standing supporter of Touch of Teal, Design Essentials has for several years donated products and provided expert styling teams to help women feel confident, celebrated, and beautiful during this special occasion.

This year, Design Essentials ambassadors, led by International Educator and Trichologist Carole Davis, styled the 12 models, many of whom have experienced hair loss as a result of cancer treatment. Working with natural hair and wigs, the team created bespoke, confidence-boosting looks that reflected each model’s individuality and story.

“A Touch of Teal is always such a special event to be part of. It’s about so much more than hair,” says Carole Davis, International Educator for Design Essentials and Registered Trichologist. “Working with women who have been through so much and helping them feel confident and beautiful again is a real privilege. Seeing their faces light up when they look in the mirror and then watching them walk that runway with pride is something I’ll never forget. It’s a reminder of just how powerful hair can be in helping someone feel like themselves again.”

Reflecting on the event, Sharon Thompson, International Marketing Manager for McBride Research Laboratories Inc., said, “For us, Touch of Teal is about more than hair. It’s about helping women reclaim their confidence, no matter where they are in their journey. We are honoured to have once again played a part in such a powerful and uplifting event.”

Ovacome continues to provide essential support to over 6,500 people each year and reaches nearly 80,000 individuals with expert information, reducing isolation and raising awareness for those affected by ovarian cancer.
