SABRINA DIJKMAN, AMBASSADOR AT ALTERNA EUROPE
With many clients working later nights in the office and having to attend Christmas parties a little later than they’d like to, we talk to Sabrina Dijkman, Ambassador at ALTERNA Europe about their favourite styles that can easily be worn from desk to dance floor or that can be created in a few minutes in the office before heading out for the festivities!
Low slung textured bun
This look takes minutes to create but looks incredibly chic. I always firstly start by sectioning off the top section of the hair and backcombing a small section of the hair underneath to provide height at the top of the head before brushing the sectioned section over to create a smoother finish. I also apply some of the My Hair. My Canvas. Any Way Texture Spray into the backcombed section of the hair to give it further texture and volume. I then create an effortless braid with the rest of the hair and twist this to create a low slung bun before securing with pins at the nape of the neck. For softness around the face and a more feminine and romantic look, I pull out some strands of hair around the face and within the bun before finishing with Caviar Infinite Color Hold Topcoat Spray to give the hair a healthy looking shine and to enhance the look of the clients hair colour.
Twist Wrap Ponytail
For those who like a more boho chic style the pull through braid is one of my favourite looks. This look elevates the simple ponytail, giving it a knotted like style for an instantly more glamorous feel. I always start by distributing some of the Caviar Professional Styling Luxe Crème Gel through the hair to help with shaping the hair and to give it a beautiful shine before creating the look. Then, separate the hair into three sections. Secure the middle section with a ponytail and the side sections with sectioning clips. Wrap the right section over the ponytail and then wrap the left section over the ponytail and continue to do this until you’re just over half way down the ponytail before securing with pins to keep the style in place. Lightly pull out hair at the top of the head to give it some added volume and then mist some My Hair. My Canvas. City Slay Shielding Hairspray through the hair to give the hair a flexible hold and soft shine whilst keeping flyaways at bay.
Crown braid
For clients who love a hair look with a touch of elegance, the crown braid is a great choice. A braid is incredibly easy to create but adjusting this simple look to create a crown can instantly take it up a notch and can really make a statement. I always start by misting through some My Hair. My Canvas. Another Day Dry Shampoo before creating this look to refresh the hair and prep it for styling. I then mist through some Caviar Professional Styling Perfect Texture Spray to give the hair added texture before creating my braid. Then, create the braid and once complete pin to the top of the head. Finish by misting some Caviar Professional Styling Working Hair Spray through the hair before gently pulling out sections of the braid to give it a thicker appearance. Although this style was created using one braid, you can also create this look with two braids if time permits! Section the hair into two and create a braid on the left hand side and secure into place on the right side of the head before creating your braid on the left side and securing on the right side of the head for a super sophisticated and regal look.
