OUT NOW: SALONEVO ISSUE TWO (APR/MAY)

Despite this being a trying time for the entire beauty industry, we truly hope our second issue of SalonEVO brings a little bit of light in the dark. Issue One was a huge milestone for us, and we think Issue Two is just as entertaining and inspiring.

In these uncertain times, when salons across North America have been forced to close, it is important that we continue to inspire each other, knowing that this will come to an end.

To provide some hope, we spoke to Anna Elliott, owner of Doc’s Barbershop in Shanghai, China, who has finally been able to reopen her shop doors and is getting back to business. We also asked our columnist and social media guru Tyrik Jackson to share his top tips on how to make the best of a bad situation and use your down time to grow and develop.

This issue we are putting an extra special spotlight on nails, starting with an exclusive interview with NAHA Nail Professional of the Year, Sandy Clark, not to mention a whole host of advice from nail technicians and salons including sundays studios in New York, NAHA finalists Wendi Barker and Rochelle Dingman, and much more.

We’re also taking a look at two incredibly important topics right now: health and safety, and sustainability in the salon. While the news and updates around COVID-19 are ever changing, we have tried to bring you advice and tips on how to stay safe and healthy in the salon, for both you and you client.

In our sustainability feature, we talk to Salt Hair salon, who share their tips on how to go green, cruelty-free product expert Janel Latessa shares why she will never use non-natural color products again, and worldwide hair care brand Paul Mitchell shares some of its biggest green initiatives.

Elsewhere, international stylist Angelo Seminara shares his thoughts on his latest IHA victory and his incredible career, Andis’ new Global Education Manager Angie Perino talks about her exciting new role and in our Male Grooming section, we find out all about American Crew’s latest campaign and how WAHL educator Nieves Almaraz is taking the barber education world by storm.

If that wasn’t enough, expect our round up of the latest news, the hottest new products and editorial collections. We can’t thank you enough for supporting this new adventure, but we hope these 104 pages will at least partly do it for us.
